BIOGRAPHIE

Wissen, dass man niemals fertig werden wird, kann ein beruhigender Gedanke sein. Bei NRY ist das Teil ihres Selbstverständnisses. NOT READY YET sind noch längst nicht fertig! Natürlich werden Songs fertig, bei Konzerten verklingt der letzte Ton und jetzt erscheint das erste Album ON/OFF [2023-10-20 NCR-RECORDS / DIY or DIE Records].

Was das Trio aus Dortmund da produziert hat, müssen andere einordnen. Die musikalischen Einflüsse der Brüder Jens Kriegel (Gesang, Gitarre) und Lars Kriegel (Keys, Bass, Backings) sowie von Chris Bröer (Drums, Synthesizer) sind so umfassend, dass man hier zu viele Bands und Genres nennen müsste und doch auch damit nicht fertig werden würde.

Für NRY spielt das Passen in irgendeine Schublade auch keine Rolle. Im Zentrum steht, richtig gute Musik zu machen; Songs, die mehr Gefühle transportieren, als nur punkige Wut. Songs, die nicht nur laut sind, sondern dynamisch ein größeres Spektrum haben. Aber es gibt sie natürlich, diese punkige Wut, die hämmernden Beats, die schreienden Gitarren, den wummernden Bass, die Texte aus dem bitter-süßen Leben, aber eben auch das melodische E-Piano und das synthetische Gekraxel. 

 

Und es gibt die Gewissheit, dass da noch mehr kommt. Noch mehr NRY.

Knowing not to be „ready“ anytime can be an encouraging thought. For NRY it´s part of their self-understanding as a band. NOT READY YET are not ready yet! Of course they getting things done: songs, shows an now the upcoming first double-LP ON/OFF [2023-10-20 NCR-RECORDS / DIY or DIE Records].

 

Others have to put that thing into boxes, because the influences of the two brothers Jens Kriegel (vocals, guitar) and Lars Kriegel (keys, bass, backings) and Chris Bröer (drums, synth) are so widely spread, that the number of bands and genres to mention here would be far to long and still incomplete.

 

NRY doesn´t care about fitting into any genre. They just want to play really good music; songs, transporting more than just punky anger. Songs being more than just loud but having a wider spectrum of dynamics. But of course you´ll find some punky anger, hammering beats, crying guitars, humming bass and lyrics telling stories of the bitter-sweat life. But there will be melodic keys and translucent synthesizers as well.

And there is the certainty that there will be something more. More NRY.
